So roughly 5-6 weeks, a bit less than 1k miles ago, I put in new coilovers. Have been wheeling with them once since and I am noticing a slight pop when turning at low speeds , especially when going over small bumps too..most noticeably when backing out of my driveway.
At first I thought it was my skid plates because they were making a lot of noise after putting them back on, but my wheeling trip took care of that and I didn't notice any noises for a while, but I just recently noticed them again (it is not very loud, must have windows open with music off) and got underneath tonight and noticed some troubling things.
There is some grease dampness around both tie rod end boots and even a little around the LCA balljoint boots(!). I've been doing some reading and saw someone mentioned they damaged their tie rod ends while maneuvering the spindle around for the CO install, which I suppose is a definite possibility in my case.
So I'm looking at tie rod end replacement which is easy and cheap, but my big concern is the LCA balljoint as replacing that is quite the PITA it seems.
My questions are is a little bit of grease moisture sometimes okay? Does it just need a little re-greasing with a needle tip? Are the sounds from something else entirely and I am just overreacting?
For reference, I have a 2011 just shy of 31k miles that's seen some decent wheeling, about one a month during the summer/fall.
Thanks for your advice as always.
